World renowned power trio HIGH ON FIRE will appear on the cover of the April, 2010 issue of Decibel magazine. The issue features a seven page exposition on the award-winning band, detailing its rise to one of heavy music’s finest acts, its influence on scores of today’s up-and-coming bands and a close up look at the making of its critically acclaimed new album, Snakes for the Divine. HIGH ON FIRE lands at #62 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart this week with its brand new album, Snakes for the Divine. The critically lauded record shifted over 8,600 units in just its first week of release. Snakes for the Divine, the influential band’s debut release for E1 Music, and fifth full length album overall, is the highest charting record in the band’s decade-plus sales history. The sales more than double the first week tally registered by the group’s last CD (2007’s Death is this Communion).

Additionally, Snakes for the Divine debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hard Music Core Stores Chart and at #5 on Billboard’s Hard Music Albums Chart. The album also debuted at #6 on Canada’s Nielsen SoundScan Hard Music Albums Chart, #6 on its Independent Albums Chart and at #65 on the Canadian Hard Music Top 200 Chart.

In celebration of Snakes for the Divine’s release, HIGH ON FIRE has announced a U.S. headlining tour. Presented by Decibel and Stereogum, the five week trek will launch on March 31 in Minneapolis, MN and will include support from Priestess, Black Cobra and Bison B.C. HIGH ON FIRE will also perform live at the 2010 SXSW Festival, headlining the Action! PR SXSW Showcase, set for Wednesday, March 17 at Mohawk (912 Red River St., Austin, TX). The showcase, presented in part by Decibel magazine and Stereogum, will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at Mohawk (912 Red River St., Austin, TX) and will feature world-renowned power trio HIGH ON FIRE in its only SXSW appearance of 2010. This all ages event will be open to the public as well as SXSW badge and wristband holders.

In addition to HIGH ON FIRE, the ACTION! PR SXSW Showcase will feature live sets from critically acclaimed bands PRIESTESS (Montréal, QB), BISON B.C. World-renowned power trio HIGH ON FIRE premieres the eight minute title track from its forthcoming new album Snakes for the Divine today via SPIN. The colossal song sees the Oakland band at the peak of its powers, injecting a progressive mien into its steamroller sound while legendary guitarist / vocalist Matt Pike conjures symbols describing “venomous reptiles, night goats, ancient crimes and endless time.” Snakes for the Divine will drop on February 23 via E1 Music.

Snakes for the Divine can be pre-ordered at iTunes now. The pre-order version will include two bonus tracks; a live version of “Blood from Zion” (a song from the band’s 2000 release The Art of Self Defense) recorded at the 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival as well as a demo version of the new track “Fire, Flood & Plague”. The new album will also be a part of Best Buy’s “Find ‘Em First” program and will be a specially priced at $7.99 for a limited time. The version will exclusively feature three extra bonus tracks, including the new song “Mystery of Helm” plus live versions of the HIGH ON FIRE favorites “Eyes and Teeth” and “Cometh Down Hessian”.
